According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Inter have offered Milan Skriniar a long-term contract plus the chance to wear the captain's armband. The Italian CEO Marotta was optimistic of reaching an agreement for the player.

Milan Skriniar met with Inter for a first approach to negotiate the player's contract extension after rejecting Barcelona's offer.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Italian side had already made an initial offer to the player. It was based on a more long-term contract with the club and also offered him the chance to wear the captain's armband.

Milan CEO Beppe Marotta spoke to 'DAZN' and he was optimistic: "I have faith and I'm optimistic to reach an agreement with Skriniar on a new long-term contract. We will be in contact with his agents and we hope to close the deal in the coming weeks."

The 27-year-old player is a key player for Simone Inzaghi, who counted on him in each and every one of the 20 matches he played for Inter.
