The Croatian Football Federation, which is in the group with Spain, Italy and Albania at this summer's European Championship in Germany, has confirmed its preliminary squad list for the tournament in Germany. Among the visible heads are Real Madrid's Luka Modric and Manchester City's Josko Gvardiol.

Coach Zlatko Dalic announced on Monday the preliminary list of Croatia's squad for Euro 2024 in Germany, which includes Luka Modric (Real Madrid), who will be at the European Championship for the fifth time, and Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic (Manchester City).

Dalic will once again be relying on the squad that finished third at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, as 20 of the 26 names are the same as in that squad. Nediljko Labrovic, Marin Pongracic, Luka Ivanusec, Martin Baturina, Marko Pjaca and Marco Pasalic will be new additions, while Ivo Grbic, Dejan Lovren, Borna Barisic, Marko Livaja, Mislav Orsic and Kristijan Jakic will not return.

Some of them, such as Barisic (Glasgow Rangers) or Jakic (Augsburg), are part of a reserve list of players who would be called upon in case of need, which also includes Duje Caleta-Car (Lyon), Dominik Kotarski (PAOK), Toni Fruk (Rijeka), Marin Ljubicic (LASK), Igor Matanovic (Karlsruher), Niko Kristian Sigur (Hadjuk) and Petar Susic (Dinamo Zagreb).

Croatia, who have been drawn in Group B, will make their debut against Spain in Berlin on 15 June at 18:00, followed by matches against Albania in Hamburg on 19 June at 15:00 and Italy in Leipzig on 24 June at 21:00.
