Goals from James McAtee and Aymeric Laporte gave Manchester City a 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich on Wednesday, and secured the European champions their second win of a pre-season tour in Japan.
However, it was not all good news. Nathan Ake was forced off in the 29th minute due to an ankle injury. Manuel Akanji took his place.
The Dutch defender has become Pep Guardiola's first injury concern ahead of the start of the new season. City are hoping it is not a serious injury as the 28-year-old plays a key role in the English team.
Should Ake have to be out of action for a long time, the Sky Blues are hoping to complete Josko Gvardiol's transfer from RB Leipzig. However, negotiations are not going smoothly.
"We don't need money. We prefer Josko to stay. We're not a club that blocks anything," said RB Leipzig sporting director Max Eberl.
